On Saturday, the Calgary Humane Society tried to break the Guinness World Record during the South Glenmore Park’s 15th annual Dog Jog.
The previous record holder was the Australian SPCA, set during the summer of 2015 with 764 dogs wearing bandanas.
By breaking the record and raising it to 813 dogs, the Calgary Humane Society made the Dog Jog a colorful river of furry supporters.
The Dog Jog is used as an awareness and fundraising campaign for the Calgary Humane Society. It is a non-competitive walk/run over a course that is child and canine friendly.
Through word-of-mouth the CHS was able to rally those 813 dogs to break the record, unofficially.
