We scoured the booths for the healthiest, all natural, ethically sourced, and raw dog foods and treats and rounded them up here in our list of the top 6 edibles found at Woofstock 2016.

1. Open Farm

Open Farm foods check all the boxes: Solid nutrition from ethical, local sources, and emphasis put on sustainable practices. “Local” here means in the farms surrounding Toronto, Ontario, but their food is available all over North America. Everything is made with human grade, 100% Certified Humane meats, Ocean Wise recommended wild-caught fish, and locally grown, non-GMO fruits & veggies. They only source from third-party verified family farms that employ humane farming practices, their food is 100% grain-free (never use any corn, wheat, soy, or rice) and they use absolutely no animal byproducts in their recipes either.

All their foods have generous portions of nutritious coconut and fish oils, they add prebiotic fibers in every batch to support healthy digestion, there are options that are 100% poultry free and potato free (for animals with allergies),  and their recipes are designed for rotation between formulations, which means your pet gets the variety it needs so they ever get bored of their food and all their nutritional bases are covered.

2. Iron Will Raw

Iron Will Raw pet food is based in Ontario, Canada and they source all their human grade ingredients in Canada, priding themselves in using only local suppliers. They source their meat only from federally or provincially inspected facilities, which are regularly inspected by the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency). These facilities produce the fresh human grade meat you can find in top butcher shops, fine dining restaurants, and grocery stores across Canada. Their food includes both Raw Meaty Bones (RMB) and other whole foods which aid in dental hygiene and the delivery of essential vitamins and minerals, as well as ground food. They pay a lot of attention to food safety when dealing with their raw foods and maintain a high level of cleanliness and ensure proper refrigeration and freezing practices, even employing a quick freeze method that locks in the freshness and taste so your pet enjoys their food.

3. Kabo

Kabo fresh cooked dog food was hands down the best dog food we tried (yes both human and dog have tested this food). It’s made from all natural ingredients such as beef, carrots and fish oil. Kabo dog food is all sourced and produced in Canada. All made to human-grade standard which means you or I can eat it. Everything is pre-portioned and packaged to your specific dog’s weight and needs – all approved by expert pet nutritionists. They even offer free shipping on every single order, and if your dog doesn’t love it, they’ll cover the cost of return shipping and give you a full refund – no questions asked.
